Dear Hiring Manager:

My name is Madeleine Hartmann.I graduated from the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Mount Saint Mary’s University in August 2023. I am applying for a nurse position at the hospital because I am determined to use my nursing degree and skills to be build a career as an advocate and an evidence-based caregiver for patients and their families.

While women’s health has always been on my radar, my clinical experience on the Labor and Delivery and Postpartum units at Cedars-Sinai confirmed that this is what I am meant to do. It was hard work yet fulfilling, and the nurses working on the floor inspired me. I learned during my experience on the unit that I have what it takes to be a successful nurse. I can multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment, and I remain calm and composed in stressful situations. I am a team player, a clear communicator, and I work with enthusiasm and integrity. I am committed to being a lifelong learner in order to provide the best quality of care for my patients. Most of all, I care for people.

In addition to proving myself in the clinical setting, I have done well in the classroom. As my resume indicates, I achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.78 in the MSMU ABSN program. I also achieved the highest score out of 44 students in my cohort on the cumulative “Childbearing Families and Women’s Health” final exam, which consisted of case study questions about antepartum, laboring, and postpartum patients. This achievement reflects my critical thinking skills, strong work ethic, and invaluable clinical experience. It also reflects my passion for women's health-a result of my own personal journey through a major women's health challenge.

I believe that my personal, clinical, and classroom experiences have prepared me to be an outstanding nurse. I promise that if you give me the opportunity, I will be a credit to your decision.

Best Regards,

Madeleine Hartmann
